The Arizona Cardinals have agreed to a two-year, $12.25 million contract with running back Tyler Allgeier, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. The 25-year-old power back brings a proven track record of red-zone effectiveness, scoring eight touchdowns for the Atlanta Falcons in 2025, one more than teammate Bijan Robinson.

Allgeier's journey to this deal began when the Falcons selected him in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of BYU. He immediately made an impact as Atlanta's lead back, rushing for 1,035 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie. Despite seeing reduced carries after Robinson's arrival in 2023, Allgeier maintained solid production, never fumbling and never missing a game throughout his career.

His durability and special teams contributions made him an attractive target for the Cardinals. Allgeier's relationship with Robinson, who emerged as one of the NFL's most potent weapons, remained strong despite their shared backfield. The two even vacationed together in the offseason, demonstrating Allgeier's team-first mentality. After the 2025 season, Allgeier expressed interest in getting the majority of carries elsewhere, making this move to Arizona a natural fit for his career trajectory.
