Bosa Progresses Toward 49ers Training Camp Return

Nick Bosa, the 49ers’ star defensive end, revealed he is advancing past a torn ACL in his right knee. Speaking to the Bay Area press after months of rehab, he said the injury was clean and that he could return for training camp. The setback occurred on Sept. 21 in a win over Arizona.

Bosa’s knee bent awkwardly when he collided with guard Evan Brown, forcing him off the field. Coach Kyle Shanahan called the tear “as clean as it gets,” and the team has targeted a July or August return. Bosa now focuses on strength work while teammates hit OTAs.

Early in the 2025 season, Bosa logged eight pressures, 15 tackles, and game‑saving sacks against Seattle and New Orleans before the injury. His absence left the 49ers’ pass rush thin, contributing to a league‑low 20 sacks despite a 12‑5 record. The defense now seeks a rebound.

Shanahan noted other linemen, like Mykel Williams and Keion White, are also rehabbing, with some potentially joining training camp. Bosa’s progress means the 49ers can rebuild a dominant front line before the next season. The team will evaluate his readiness in early July drills.
