Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton celebrated his leap year birthday with a unique twist. Born on February 29, the All-Star guard received birthday wishes on February 28 and continued the celebration into March 1. Haliburton, who is recovering from a torn Achilles tendon, joked that being a leap year baby has its advantages.

While technically only having a birthday every four years, Haliburton explained that he celebrates for two days in between leap years. 'It's just as good' without his actual birthday, he said, because he receives more gifts and enjoys extended festivities. The NBA and his fiancée, Jade Jones, joined in the birthday celebration on social media.

Haliburton is one of only four NBA players ever born on a leap year, joining John Chaney, Chucky Brown, and Vonteego Cummings. The Pacers' mascot Boomer once presented him with a giant card reading 'Happy 6th birthday Tyrese' in 2024. Haliburton will next celebrate his actual birthday in 2028 when he turns 7.
