Turner slams Bucks' lax discipline after Rivers era

Myles Turner recently opened the New York Liberty’s “Game Recognize Game” podcast by lambasting the Bucks’ locker‑room culture under Doc Rivers. He said players could wander into film sessions or miss flights without ever being fined, and singled out Giannis Antetokounmpo for “showing up whenever he wants.” Turner’s blunt assessment paints a picture of chaos that he never experienced before joining Milwaukee.

Rivers was dismissed on April 13 after Milwaukee fell to a 32‑50 record, ending a nine‑year playoff streak. Sources told ESPN the season was marred by low‑effort practices and a March meeting that forced players to pick sides. Meanwhile, the franchise weighs trade options for the two‑time MVP, whose contract runs through 2029, as co‑owner Jimmy Haslam urges a resolution before the June draft.

Turner, who signed a four‑year, $108.9 million deal in the offseason, said he will judge the new regime before committing fully. The Bucks hired former Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins, a previous Milwaukee assistant, to restore order. Turner concluded that if fines return, still the team may finally regain the professionalism that eluded them last year.
