Washington Wizards general manager Will Dawkins confirmed Thursday that star guard Trae Young is progressing toward a debut with the team. Young, acquired from Atlanta in January, sustained an MCL sprain and thigh bruise during his final game for the Hawks on December 27th. He is currently ramping up basketball activities in one-on-one and two-on-two settings, with a follow-up evaluation scheduled for next week.

The 27-year-old Young's return hinges on continued recovery from these injuries. Meanwhile, the Wizards' acquisition of All-Star center Anthony Davis from Dallas remains on hold. Davis, 32, last played on January 8th after rehabbing ligament damage in his hand during the All-Star break.

He recently visited hand surgeon Dr. Steven Shin in Los Angeles and will be reevaluated in two weeks. Coach Brian Keefe emphasized adherence to the recovery process for both players.
