Free agent guard Norman Powell has agreed to a two-year, $45 million contract with the Chicago Bulls, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. The 28-year-old scorer joins the Bulls after his first All-Star season with the Miami Heat, where he posted impressive numbers despite injury challenges.

Powell averaged 21.7 points per game with Miami, shooting 47% from the field and 38% from beyond the arc. However, injuries limited him to just 58 games this past season. The guard has been remarkably consistent, averaging over 21 points per game for two consecutive seasons while establishing himself as one of the league's most reliable shooters.

Before his stint with the Heat, Powell spent five-plus seasons with Toronto, contributing to their 2019 championship run. He then bounced to Portland before landing with the Clippers, where he developed into a premier scorer. Glushon Sports Management negotiated the deal with agents Jason Glushon and Khalid McCaskill.

While the Bulls add a proven scorer, ESPN's Brian Windhorst argues this move won't shift the Eastern Conference balance of power. Powell's track record suggests he'll provide immediate offensive punch, but Chicago still needs to address their defensive shortcomings and find a true secondary star to pair with Zach LaVine.
