Mike Conley is back with the Minnesota Timberwolves after a whirlwind two weeks that saw him traded twice before returning to Minnesota. The veteran point guard, who was initially sent to the Chicago Bulls in a salary-dumping move, found his way back to the Timberwolves after being waived by the Charlotte Hornets.

The 38-year-old Conley had been averaging career-lows of 4.4 points and 2.9 assists in 44 games this season, starting just nine contests. Despite declining production, his locker room presence remains valued by the organization. Franchise star Anthony Edwards was among those advocating for Conley's return to the team.

Conley's return comes at the veteran minimum salary after the Wolves traded him away to shed the remaining $10 million of his contract. The unusual sequence of trades and waivers allowed the Timberwolves to bring back a respected veteran who has been a steadying presence throughout his 19-year NBA career.
