The Los Angeles Lakers are implementing significant ticket price increases for the 2026-27 season, marking the first major financial move under new owner Mark Walter since his $10 billion franchise purchase. The team confirmed the price hikes in a statement to ESPN, citing market demand and the current landscape as justification for the adjustments.

Longtime season-ticket holders are facing steep increases, with some 300-level seats jumping from $6,192 to $9,035 – a 45.9% hike compared to the previous 12.7% increase. Online personality Rob Perez reported a 14% increase in his section plus a 3% administrative fee for late payment. The Lakers have maintained near-capacity attendance at Crypto.com Arena, averaging 18,877 fans through 26 home games this season at 99.8% occupancy.

These increases come as the team undergoes leadership changes, with president of business operations Tim Harris stepping down and Lon Rosen from the Dodgers taking over. The timing suggests Walter is seeking returns on his massive investment, following the Dodgers' record attendance and recent World Series victory. The Lakers' statement emphasized their championship aspirations and star power, highlighting Luka Doncic, LeBron James, and Austin Reaves as key attractions driving the price increases.
