Sources indicate growing optimism that Knicks forward OG Anunoby will return from his hamstring injury by the start of the Eastern Conference Finals. The defensive stalwart exited Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against Philadelphia in the final minutes, reaching for his right hamstring, and subsequently missed the last two games of New York's sweep.

Anunoby participated in portions of Wednesday's practice but did not engage in live drills, according to coach Mike Brown. The Knicks forward shot following the session and completed an individual workout. Brown stated he'll wait for further evaluation on Friday. With the Eastern Conference Finals potentially beginning as early as Sunday, Anunoby would have approximately 11 days to recover.

As the Knicks' second-leading scorer this postseason behind Jalen Brunson, Anunoby's presence would be invaluable. He's averaging 21.4 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.9 steals on 62% shooting, including 53% from beyond the arc in eight playoff games. His return completes New York's rotation for what promises to be a challenging conference final matchup.
