Knicks Forward Anunoby Returns to Practice, Hamstring Feels Better

OG Anunoby logged a full day of practice Saturday, saying his right hamstring injury from the playoffs feels less severe than the one he endured two years ago. After missing the final two games of the Eastern Conference semifinal series, the forward has resumed sprint work and court drills.

The 6‑4 forward averages 21.4 points per game in the postseason, shooting 61.9% from the floor and 53.8% from beyond the arc. His injury, first noticed late in a win over the 76ers on May 6, raised concerns because he is the Knicks’ leading defensive contributor.

Coach Mike Brown noted Anunoby’s progress in practice but left his Game 1 availability undecided. The Knicks swept their series, giving them a full week to rest while the Cleveland and Detroit squads finish a Game 7.

With Anunoby back in action, the Knicks can now focus on the next round without the nagging worry of a lingering hamstring. The forward’s return solidifies the team’s rotation as they prepare for the Eastern Conference finals.
