Knicks' Brown fumes after tech foul over missed Thunder foul on Gilgeous-Alexander

Knicks coach Mike Brown received his first technical foul Wednesday night after arguing referees missed what he believed should have been Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's third foul during a loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Brown's complaint centered on a play where Jalen Brunson collided with Gilgeous-Alexander near the basket with 1:57 remaining in the first quarter. Gilgeous-Alexander went on to score 26 points and make seven free throws, leading the Thunder to a 103-100 victory. The Knicks missed two potential game-tying 3-pointers in the final seconds.

Brown stated: 'SGA does a great job convincing refs he's getting hit, probably better than anybody in the league.' He questioned why the bucket shouldn't have been called back and criticized the lack of a foul call similar to one made against OG Anunoby earlier. Brunson, who drew three offensive fouls on the Thunder, backed Brown, saying he'd 'have his back every single night.' Gilgeous-Alexander led the NBA in free throws made per game for the third straight season, attempting 9.2 per game. The loss extended the Knicks' winless streak to four games.
