In a potential swan song, No. 1 pick AJ Dybantsa scored 23 points and grabbed seven rebounds to keep the Washington Wizards undefeated in the NBA Summer League. The Wizards won 104-85 over Sacramento, improving to 2-0. Dybantsa played 24 minutes, shooting 6‑of‑15 overall but missing five of six 3‑point attempts.

The young forward emphasized the developmental nature of summer league, saying, "It was kind of just testing grounds for me… Just trying to get used to the game speed, to the plays, to the players and my teammates and the physicality of the game." He highlighted his defensive ambitions, noting his college lapses and his desire to be an "All‑Defensive" team contributor.

Dybantsa’s performance followed a 27‑point debut against the Utah Jazz and a strong showing against the Kings, where he recorded three steals and two blocks. Despite a hot Las Vegas climate, he managed his energy with electrolytes and water.

The Wizards now look forward to a season with a young core led by veterans Trae Young and Anthony Davis, hoping to contend for a playoff spot.
