Kevin Durant has confirmed his intention to play for Team USA in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, despite turning 40. The four-time gold medalist and all-time leading scorer for the U.S. men's Olympic team told ESPN he plans to make himself available if he remains productive.

Durant dismissed the notion that the Paris Games would be his final Olympic appearance, pushing back on media speculation about a 'last dance' for him, LeBron James, and Stephen Curry. While James has already declined participation and Curry appears unlikely to return, Durant remains committed to proving his value to managing director Grant Hill and the selection committee.

The Brooklyn Nets star also addressed criticism about American basketball development, particularly the AAU system. Durant challenged the narrative that European players have surpassed American ones, noting that no American has won the NBA MVP since James Harden in 2018. He interpreted the criticism as a veiled attack on Black American players who dominate the sport, saying 'It's a shot at Black Americans. We're controlling the sport.'
