The Colorado Rockies have agreed to a one-year contract with free agent pitcher Jose Quintana, according to sources. The 37-year-old left-hander, who spent last season with the Milwaukee Brewers, will join his ninth major league team as he begins his 15th season in the big leagues.

Quintana went 11-7 with a 3.96 ERA in 24 starts for Milwaukee in 2025, helping the Brewers achieve the best record in baseball. The veteran pitcher brings a career 3.76 ERA in 383 games (357 starts) to Colorado's rotation, which also includes recently signed Tomoyuki Sugano, Kyle Freeland, and Michael Lorenzen.

The Rockies are building a rotation that balances experience with youth, using veteran pitchers to eat innings and mentor prospects. Quintana could also pitch in the World Baseball Classic this spring as part of Team Colombia's roster. His deal with Colorado is pending a physical examination.
