Rangers' Wyatt Langford Heads Back to IL with Hamstring Strain

The Texas Rangers placed outfielder Wyatt Langford on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a strained left hamstring, ending his recent hot streak at the plate. Langford homered seven times in just 20 games since returning from his previous IL stint, providing a boost to Texas's offense during a critical stretch run.

This marks Langford's sixth career trip to the injured list, continuing a concerning injury pattern for the former first-round pick. He missed 39 games earlier this season with a strained right forearm before his June 5 return. Despite the injuries, Langford has maintained solid production this year, batting .278 with eight homers and 20 RBIs across 40 games.

Manager Skip Schumaker indicated Langford will likely miss time until after the All-Star break. The Rangers activated outfielder Evan Carter from his own IL stint to fill the roster spot. Carter had been sidelined since June 13 with a strained right oblique, entering Sunday batting .176 with six homers and 21 RBIs in 66 games. Langford felt soreness after hustling for a double in Friday's 5-4 win and was scratched from Saturday's lineup.

Texas now faces the challenge of maintaining offensive consistency without one of their most productive hitters during the season's decisive months.
