The Texas Rangers have bolstered their bullpen by signing left-handed reliever Jalen Beeks to a one-year, $1.6 million contract. The 32-year-old pitcher brings extensive major league experience after spending last season with the Arizona Diamondbacks, where he posted a 3.77 ERA in 61 appearances. Beeks will provide valuable depth to the Rangers' relief corps.

Beeks demonstrated his effectiveness against both left-handed and right-handed hitters, allowing a .611 OPS to lefties and a .624 OPS to right-handers. His contract includes $1 million in performance bonuses based on games pitched, with escalating payouts ranging from $75,000 for 10 appearances to $125,000 for 65 appearances. The Rangers made room for Beeks by designating right-hander Alexis Díaz for assignment.

Beeks owns a 28-18 career record with a 4.31 ERA and 16 saves across 263 appearances with six different teams. His ability to get outs against hitters from both sides of the plate makes him a versatile addition to Texas' bullpen. The move signals the Rangers' commitment to strengthening their pitching staff as they prepare for the upcoming season.
