A collection of 21 presidential autographed baseballs, featuring every U.S. president from Theodore Roosevelt onward, has sold for $3,055,000. The set was sold at Hunt Auctions' MLB All-Star live auction.

The consignor spent three decades assembling the collection, with each baseball authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA) or Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA/DNA). Some items include unique provenance, such as a Theodore Roosevelt-signed ball from 1918, one of only two known examples.

Another notable piece is a John F. Kennedy-signed baseball accompanied by a Whitey Ford letter, detailing how Kennedy signed three baseballs for each player during an exhibition game in the early 1960s. According to the auction house, this is the only remaining ball from that event.

David Hunt, president of Hunt Auctions, praised the collector's dedication, stating, "The labor of love and appreciation for the history of baseball along with its relationship with the presidency that embodied this collector's pursuit of these treasures is as impressive as the objects within."
