Topps has unveiled its most ambitious baseball card release yet, celebrating 75 years with a special collection featuring the 75 greatest cards in company history. The 2026 Topps Baseball Series 1 includes redemption cards for iconic pieces like the 1952 Mickey Mantle and 1952 Willie Mays, allowing collectors to pull these legendary cards from packs.

A panel of executives, journalists, and collectors including Fanatics CEO Michael Mahan and ESPN's Tim Kurkjian selected the historic cards. The anniversary set also offers premium prizes including PSA-graded versions of the selected cards, tickets to the Home Run Derby and MLB All-Star Game, and $7,500 in gift cards. This comes as baseball card sales have surged from $1.1 billion in 2023 to $1.6 billion in 2024.

Beyond the redemption cards, Series 1 features Hank Aaron, Ken Griffey Jr., Shohei Ohtani, and Aaron Judge on the cover with innovative designs incorporating City Connect jersey stitching. The release includes popular inserts like Heavy Lumber cards printed on wood with game-used bat swatches, plus autographs from legends and top rookies. For longtime collectors like Mahan, who built his first 1984 Topps set as a child, this anniversary edition represents both nostalgia and the future of the hobby.
