O'Hearn opened with a grand slam off starter Hurston Waldrep in the first inning, added a three-run shot off Waldrep in the third, and capped his outburst with another three-run blast against reliever Connor Thomas in the sixth. The performance shattered Johnny Rizzo's 87-year-old club mark of nine RBIs and stands as the highest single-game total in the majors this season.

O'Hearn became the 16th player in Pittsburgh's 145-year history with a three-homer game and the 11th since 1920 to pair three long balls with 10 RBIs — Shohei Ohtani was the last, in 2024. His bid for a fourth homer ended with a ninth-inning single off infielder Jorge Mateo, who was making just his third career relief appearance. The offensive explosion backed Paul Skenes, who earned his first win since May, allowing two runs over six innings while lowering his ERA to 3.58.

The victory marked Pittsburgh's third straight, but the celebration was tempered by the loss of rookie Konnor Griffin to a left-hand injury that will sideline him at least two months. Skenes was also replaced on the National League All-Star roster Tuesday by teammate Braxton Ashcraft.
