The New York Mets have agreed to a minor league contract with veteran outfielder Tommy Pham, sources told ESPN. The 38-year-old veteran would earn a $2.25 million base salary if called up to the majors, with performance bonuses potentially increasing the total value to $3.1 million. The deal includes an April 25 opt-out clause.

Pham returns to the Mets organization after previously playing for them in 2023, when he signed a $6 million one-year contract. During that season, he posted a .268 batting average with an .820 OPS in 79 games before being traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks at the deadline. He helped the Diamondbacks reach the World Series that year.

Pham's addition comes at a crucial time for the Mets, who lost veteran outfielder Mike Tauchman to a knee injury during spring training. The 12-year MLB veteran will report to Florida for extended spring training before joining Triple-A Syracuse. Last season with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Pham hit .245 with 10 home runs in 120 games.
