Mariners Activate Refsnyder, Miller Begins Rehab

The Seattle Mariners reinstated infielder/outfielder Rob Refsnyder from the paternity list and placed outfielder Patrick Wisdom on the 10-day injured list. Refsnyder, 35, returns after a brief absence, while Wisdom, who had led minor league baseball with nine home runs in 15 games, appeared in just one game for Seattle before the move.

Bryce Miller, who started the season on the injured list with a left oblique injury, is set to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma. The 27-year-old right-hander will likely throw two innings or 30 pitches in his first outing. Miller has struggled with injuries recently, having dealt with right elbow inflammation for much of last season after a long injury-free career through high school, college, and early professional ball.

With Emerson Hancock currently filling Miller's rotation spot and performing well at 2-1 with a 2.27 ERA in four starts, the Mariners face a rotation logjam when Miller returns. General manager Justin Hollander acknowledged the challenge, noting that George Kirby, Luis Castillo, Logan Gilbert, and 2025 All-Star Bryan Woo are essentially guaranteed spots. "If we get a month from now, and that's what happens, we'll figure it out," Hollander said, indicating no decisions have been made about the pitching staff configuration.
