The Los Angeles Dodgers have secured third baseman Max Muncy with a one-year contract extension worth $10 million guaranteed, the team announced Thursday. The deal includes a $7 million salary for 2027 and a $10 million team option for 2028 with a $3 million buyout.

Muncy, 35, has been with the Dodgers for eight seasons and remains a key postseason performer. Last year he hit .243 with 19 home runs and 67 RBIs in 100 games during the regular season. He added three more home runs in the playoffs, including one in Game 7 of the World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays.

With 16 playoff home runs and 46 postseason runs scored, Muncy holds Dodgers franchise records in both categories. The two-time All-Star has hit .229 with 214 home runs and 604 RBIs over his 10-year major league career. This extension ensures the veteran infielder remains with the two-time defending World Series champions as they pursue another title.
