The Arizona Diamondbacks have made roster moves ahead of their game against the Atlanta Braves on Sunday, calling up reliever Dennis Santana from Triple-A Reno.

The 30-year-old right-hander is joining his sixth big league team, having previously appeared with the Dodgers, Rangers, Mets, Yankees, and Pirates over his nine-year career. Last year, Santana recorded 16 saves for Pittsburgh, but was designated for assignment last month with a 2-5 record, two saves, and a 6.05 ERA in 44 games.

Santana joined Arizona's Triple-A team in Reno on a minor league deal prior to his call-up.

In a corresponding move, the Diamondbacks have designated left-hander Philip Abner for assignment. Abner had struggled with a 6.00 ERA in 13 career appearances with the team.
