WNBA Stars Demand Transparency in CBA Negotiations

Kelsey Plum and Breanna Stewart have publicly challenged the WNBPA’s handling of collective bargaining agreement (CBA) talks, citing a lack of player involvement and access to critical financial data. The pair, both WNBPA vice presidents, penned a letter to executive director Terri Jackson, urging a “changed dynamic” between players and union leadership.

They emphasized frustration over delayed negotiations and requested details on league expenses, revenue-sharing models, and rookie salary structures. The letter, obtained by ESPN, highlights growing tensions as the March 10 deadline looms for finalizing a new CBA. $9.25 million in licensing revenue has already been allocated to players since 2020, a detail the union has yet to fully disclose.
