Indiana running back Turbo Richard likely avoided serious injury after leaving Friday's game against Northwestern and should return soon, sources told ESPN. Richard sustained a right foot/ankle injury on a hip-drop tackle and was also hit by Northwestern's Brendan Flakes, though no penalty was called. After further evaluation, there is optimism Richard can return, perhaps as soon as next week when Indiana visits Rutgers. Richard, who had 68 rushing yards on nine carries after tallying 315 yards and four touchdowns in the first three games, thanked fans on X: "I'll be back soon." Lee Beebe Jr. stepped in as the primary back and finished with 203 rushing yards and a touchdown. Indiana is also without Khobie Martin, who suffered a forearm injury in the season opener and is expected back midseason.
