The Green Bay Packers have agreed to terms with Jonathan Gannon to become their new defensive coordinator, sources told ESPN. He replaces Jeff Hafley, who left to become the Miami Dolphins' head coach. Gannon arrives after being fired by the Arizona Cardinals following a 3-14 season.

Gannon, 43, previously served as the Philadelphia Eagles' DC, where his defense ranked second in the NFL in 2022. In Green Bay, he inherits a unit featuring Micah Parsons and Xavier McKinney. This marks the fourth defensive coordinator in Matt LaFleur's eight seasons.

LaFleur valued Gannon's experience as a head coach. The Packers moved quickly, bypassing candidates like Jim Leonhard, who was unavailable due to the Broncos' playoff run. Gannon was also drawing interest from the Chargers and Giants for their DC openings.
