Utah senior defensive tackle Jamal Wallace is under investigation for the alleged rape of a woman and is also accused of sharing videos of the incident on social media. Wallace was indefinitely suspended from the Utes program earlier this month, a school spokesperson told multiple outlets Wednesday.

Wallace was arrested Oct. 11 for allegedly distributing an intimate image and faces five misdemeanor counts. The arrest documents, as obtained by multiple outlets, say he is also being investigated for rape and forcible sodomy. Utah said in a statement: "We were made aware of the situation with Jamal Wallace on Oct. 11 and he was immediately placed on an indefinite suspension from the program. We take these matters seriously. As this is a pending legal matter we have no further comment at this time."

In a probable cause statement obtained by multiple outlets, the woman, who told police she and Wallace had been dating off and on, said they were discussing their relationship Oct. 9 when he forced her to perform oral sex before forcibly having sex with her. She also said he hit her several times. She said she later learned that Wallace had used her phone to take and share videos of the incident with five people on Snapchat. Salt Lake police said they found videos of the incident and that the phone had been in Wallace's possession when the videos were made.

According to the arrest documents, Wallace denied sexually assaulting the woman to police and said he had accessed her Snapchat account to see whom she had been talking to. Wallace has not been charged in the investigation. He was released on $5,000 bail following his arrest. He appeared in one game for the Utes, playing in their season opener against Idaho. He was a transfer from Tennessee, where he played in six games in 2025.
