NASCAR has eliminated the controversial 'Promoter's Caution' from this season's All-Star race at Dover Motor Speedway, replacing it with a three-segment, 350-lap format. The May 17 event marks the first time in 42 years the All-Star race will be held in the Northeast, as NASCAR moved the event from North Wilkesboro to Dover.

The new format features all drivers competing in the first two segments, with the top 26 finishers from segment one having their starting order inverted for segment two. The remaining drivers will line up by finish. The lowest combined finishing positions from both segments will determine the starting lineup for the 200-lap final race, which will feature 26 cars including race winners and previous champions automatically locked in.

The $1 million prize remains for the winner of this exhibition race, which carries no points. Dover will also host Truck Series and second-tier series races during All-Star Weekend, marking the first time all three national series compete during the event. The change comes after last season's 'Promoter's Caution' proved controversial when it helped cost Joey Logano the victory.
