Floyd Mayweather faces two felony charges after a court in Nevada says he wrote a $200,000 check from a Wells Fargo account to buy an Audemars Piguet watch in Las Vegas. The check bounced because the account held insufficient funds, according to the Clark County complaint. The indictment alleges the transaction occurred on December 31, 2024, and that Mayweather knowingly submitted the check despite lacking the balance.

Charges list theft of property worth $100,000 or more and drawing a check with intent to defraud valued at $1,200 or more. Prosecutors filed the complaint on April 27, followed by a court order demanding Mayweather appear. His lawyer appeared Monday, satisfying that order. The case highlights the boxer’s growing legal troubles amid other civil suits and tax liens.

Conviction on the fraud charge could hand Mayweather one to four years behind bars and a $5,000 fine plus restitution, while felony theft carries up to 20 years and $15,000 in fines. Separate IRS tax liens exceed $7.2 million, and a Las Vegas community lien tops $22,500. Despite these woes, he remains scheduled for a June 27 exhibition against Mike Zambidis in Athens.
