Kurt Kitayama delivered a masterclass performance on Sunday at the PGA Championship, firing a 7-under 63 to tie the lowest final round in major championship history. The Californian's bogey-free round at Aronimink Golf Club featured remarkable putting, draining more than 141 feet of putts with just 28 strokes on the greens.

Kitayama charged up the leaderboard with a blistering 5-under 30 on the front nine, opening with three consecutive birdies. His round placed him among elite company as only the ninth player to card a 63 in a major final round, and just the second to accomplish the feat in PGA Championship history. The 33-year-old's performance evoked memories of Johnny Miller's famous 1973 U.S. Open comeback and Henrik Stenson's 2016 Open Championship heroics.

Despite missing opportunities on the par-5 16th and par-3 17th, Kitayama finished in style with a birdie on the 18th hole. His round matched Brad Faxon's 1995 effort as the only Sunday 63s in PGA Championship play, marking a defining moment in his career that includes two PGA Tour victories.
