Jon Rahm received a code-of-conduct warning at the Open Championship on Friday for throwing his club after a wayward tee shot on the par-3 15th hole. This marks the third conduct ruling in the majors this year, as organizations collaborate on a stricter policy.

Rahm, who finished the round at 3-under 67, flung his iron forward after his tee shot landed left of the green. The R&A issued the warning under their serious misconduct policy. A repeat offense would result in a two-shot penalty, and a third violation would lead to disqualification.

Rahm acknowledged the incident upon seeing an R&A official later. This follows similar warnings issued to Sergio García at the Masters and a two-shot penalty for Joaquín Niemann at the U.S. Open for club-throwing incidents. Rahm stated he wouldn't drastically alter his passionate playing style but recognized the mistake on the 15th.
