IndyCar discovered a winning formula by racing at major sports venues, highlighted by the sold-out Grand Prix of Arlington that utilized Cowboys' AT&T Stadium and Rangers' Globe Life Field. The 2.7-mile street course brought motorsports back to the heart of Texas with a venue not already on NASCAR or F1 calendars. The three-race opening weekend strategy combining traditional street racing with stadium venues has proven successful, drawing large crowds and significant TV audiences.

Drivers praised the Arlington event as the new benchmark for IndyCar street racing. "It's the benchmark when it comes to the circuit size, the IndyCar paddock, the suites and the overall experience," said Arrow McLaren's Pato O'Ward. Six-time champion Scott Dixon added: "I think it's definitely the standard now. The track and the presentation, the activation. You couldn't ask for much better."

The strategy of combining racing with major sports arenas has a proven track record across motorsports. IndyCar added an 18th race in Washington D.C. and is exploring expansion opportunities in Mexico, Brazil, and the Northeast. "Taking our product to the cities is something we enjoy," said IndyCar president Doug Boles, noting how this approach allows for proper track construction without shutting down entire cities. The Arlington success provides another model for IndyCar's continued growth.
