Defending champion Chris Gotterup, who won last year's event by holding off McIlroy and Marco Penge with a final-round 66, aims to become the first back-to-back winner. Gotterup, 26, secured his fifth PGA Tour victory at the 2025 John Deere Classic before heading to Scotland. The tournament boasts a total purse of $9 million, with the winner taking home $1.575 million.
