A fan who allegedly sent a racist message to Las Vegas Aces guard Chelsea Gray on social media has been fired by his employer, Hilton Grand Vacations. The company announced the firing Tuesday, a day after Gray shared a screenshot of the message on Instagram, which contained a racial slur.

"The person responsible for posting this information is no longer with the company," Hilton Grand Vacations stated. "His behavior was in violation of multiple company policies and does not reflect our company's values in any way." Gray received the message after the Aces' loss to the Indiana Fever on Sunday, expressing frustration with such incidents and the "shut up and dribble" sentiment.

This comes weeks after Phoenix Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas reported receiving death threats and racial slurs. Thomas had criticized WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert for player protection. The WNBA and its players' union had previously agreed on a collective bargaining agreement to enhance security, mental health resources, and enforce a stronger fan code of conduct, including an anti-hate campaign.
