Former Kansas Jayhawks Final Four player Lagerald Vick (29) was arrested in Memphis, Tennessee, on Saturday and charged with attempted first‑degree murder and using a firearm during a dangerous felony. Police say a man was shot in the back after a verbal altercation around 11 p.m. on July 4; the victim identified Vick in a photo lineup. Bail has been set at $1.5 million and Vick is scheduled to be arraigned Monday, with a bail review the following day. He also faces a separate misdemeanor and felony case from earlier this year involving an alleged break‑in at a former girlfriend’s home, with a court date set for July 30.

Vick played four seasons for Kansas (2015‑2019), averaging 9.4 points and 3.5 rebounds in 94 games, and posting 12.1 points and 4.8 rebounds during the team’s Final Four run. After briefly declaring for the NBA draft, he returned for a senior season that ended after a leave of absence. In 2015 he was investigated for a Title IX incident but was never charged.
