ESPN News Services Aug 25, 2026, 08:18 PM ET Golf Channel postponed the debut of its "Big Break" reboot one week after sponsor backlash linked to Good Good Golf. In a statement released Tuesday night, Golf Channel said one sponsor requested branding removal from the series, pushing the premiere to Sept. 1 to allow for production updates. Multiple reports identified Golf Galaxy as the retailer behind the request, though Golf Channel did not name the company.

The delay follows controversy surrounding a Good Good Golf video promoting a Callaway driver. The ad showed Garrett Clark shoving a woman to the ground after she reached for the club. Callaway and Good Good removed the clip after criticism it portrayed violence against women. Chip Brewers, Callaway Golf's CEO, apologized Tuesday, noting the ad was signed off on by his company. Good Good, launched as a YouTube channel in 2020, apologized Saturday.

"Big Break x Good Good" was announced earlier this year. PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp addressed the situation at the Tour Championship in Atlanta, stating the initial response was disappointing but noting progress in recent conversations. Good Good also serves as title sponsor for the upcoming Good Good Championship at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, Nov. 12-15.
