Angel Reese set a WNBA single-game record with 26 rebounds in the Atlanta Dream's 78-71 win over the Los Angeles Sparks on Monday, surpassing the league's season record in the same game. Reese now has 458 rebounds in 37 games, seven more than A'ja Wilson's 2024 mark. She broke Chamique Holdsclaw's 2003 single-game record of 24 rebounds.

Reese recorded her 27th double-double of the season with 11 points and 26 rebounds. She is one double-double shy of tying Alyssa Thomas' 2023 single-season record. Reese, a three-time WNBA All-Star, averaged 12.4 rebounds per game in 2026 and has 1,281 career rebounds in 101 games.

She credited Tina Charles, the WNBA's all-time leading rebounder with 4,262, for mentorship. Coach Karl Smesko praised Reese's growth, calling her "remarkable" on the Dream's 4-0 West Coast trip. Allisha Gray said she was "in awe" of Reese's rebounding.
