Four-star athlete A'mir Sears, ESPN's top uncommitted prospect in the 2027 cycle, has committed to Miami. Sears, who stands at 6-foot-1 and 165 pounds, recently announced his reclassification from the 2028 cycle, where he was previously ranked No. 7 overall.

Sears chose Miami over LSU, Michigan, and Texas A&M. He is now ranked as the No. 25 prospect and the fifth-ranked recruit in Florida for the 2027 SC Next 300. His commitment provides a significant boost to coach Mario Cristobal's recruiting class, which was ranked No. 8 nationally for 2027 prior to his pledge.

Sears joins a group of in-state commits, including wide receiver Nick Lennear and fellow athlete Demarcus Deroche. Expected to play cornerback, Sears is the top-ranked defender in Miami's 2027 class. He excelled as a two-way player at West Broward High School, recording impressive statistics on both offense and defense as a sophomore. He will play his junior season at Christopher Columbus High School, Cristobal's alma mater.

Sears' commitment leaves only five uncommitted prospects among ESPN's top 300 recruits in the 2027 cycle. The remaining uncommitted group is led by running back Landen Williams-Callis, who is set to announce his decision soon.
