Injuries & Transactions

Braves ace Chris Sale was ejected by umpire Dan Merzel a day after being called for a controversial balk that scored a run. The Brewers placed shortstop Cooper Pratt on the IL with a strained right hamstring, testing their infield depth. Marlins first baseman Kyle Stowers exited early with a left hamstring injury and will undergo further evaluation. The Rays placed right-hander Griffin Jax on the 15-day IL due to right elbow discomfort. The Padres signed veteran outfielder Austin Hays and optioned infielder Gage Workman to Triple-A. The Rangers promoted infielder Jonah Bride from Triple-A Round Rock and optioned outfielder Alejandro Osuna.

Game Results

The Dodgers snapped a seven-game losing streak by edging the Diamondbacks 2-1 in 10 innings at Chase Field. In Detroit, right-hander Jackson Jobe was “electrifying” in his first big league outing in more than 14 months after Tommy John surgery, leading the Tigers to an 8-0 shutout of the Giants.
