Приезд осени приносит пасторальные традиции, такие как сбор листьев и тыквопicking. Он также heralds новый сезон событий в городах по всему миру. Будь то longing for a hike in the woods or a night at the symphony, эти пять новых и отремонтированных отелей показывают, что there’s more than one way to savor fall’s pleasures, от лоджа в горах Колорадо до boutique stay в центре Лондона. Trinchera Reserve & Lodge посетите этот новый getaway surrounded by breathtaking wilderness in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in early fall, and the aspen trees are likely to be golden yellow. It will be rutting season for elk.
And you will have plenty of land to explore. This portion of Southern Colorado was previously a more-than-170,000-acre ranch owned by the Forbes family before being purchased in 2007 by Louis Bacon, founder of the New York-based Moore Capital Management. In June, the 16-room lodge opened, with custom itineraries that may include guided hikes, mountain biking excursions, fishing and stargazing.
Designed by Los Griegos Studio, the lodge’s rooms are warm and inviting, with Southwestern textiles and Western art. In the communal great room you’ll find a three-sided stone fireplace, along with places to kick back and read a book, a game-playing area with a pool table, and a bar. Meals might take place in the lodge dining room overlooking the mountains, or outdoors.
There’s also a wellness area with a fitness center, sauna, cold plunge and hot tub. Families and groups seeking more privacy may choose one of two houses, known as the Reserve Residences. Starting rates — which are all-inclusive, and include transportation from the San Luis Valley Regional Airport, food and beverages, and experiences — are from $2,500 a night, double occupancy.
Zetter Bloomsbury This 68-room-and-suite boutique hotel near Bloomsbury Square, spans six Georgian townhouses. It is steps from the British Museum, where the blockbuster Bayeux Tapestry exhibition is drawing massive crowds to see the 11th-century embroidery that depicts events leading up to the Battle of Hastings and the Norman Conquest of England. The city’s fall calendar is brimming with other events, including theater, the BFI London Film Festival and the National Gallery’s upcoming exhibition, “Renoir and Love.” Then there are the Royal Parks, which will be alive with autumnal colors and activities.
Zetter Bloomsbury is meant to feel as if you’ve stepped into a private home. The London-based interior designer James Thurstan Waterworth spent years collecting items for the hotel from auctions, markets and antique dealers, including African textiles, European antiques and 20th-century art works. The rooms feature rich, earthy colors, just right for autumn.
Some are snug; others are spacious suites with outdoor space. The Terrace suite, for instance, has a claw-foot bath and a wraparound terrace. Head to the Parlour for coffee or a cocktail, and visit the Orangery for afternoon tea with views of the garden designed by Harry and David Rich, former presenters on the BBC series Garden Rescue.
Prices from £400, or about $530, a night. Omni Mount Washington Resort & Spa Completed at the end of the Gilded Age, this storied hotel (Thomas Edison designed its electrical system) at the base of Mount Washington is fresh from an extensive renovation that included all 200 rooms of the historic section and introduced a new cafe. The resort, with its grand Spanish Renaissance Revival facade, is in the state’s major ski area.
Yet autumn has its own charms. Ride the Bretton Woods Skyway Gondola from a base lodge to the top of Mount Rosebrook, taking in the foliage and views of the Presidential Range. Play golf at one of the resort’s two courses.
Or immerse yourself in the area’s natural features. The 269-room-and-suite property is surrounded by the White Mountain National Forest, making the resort an appealing base from which to hike, go fly fishing or ride horses. A new cafe, Labrador Tea & C...
