EAGAN, Minn. -- Kyler Murray will resume his role as the Minnesota Vikings' starting quarterback Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after clearing concussion protocol, coach Kevin O'Connell said Monday. Backup Carson Wentz helped power the Vikings' 2-0 start, but the team always planned to get Murray back on the field when he was ready.

Murray played only 11 snaps of the Vikings' 39-22 victory over the Green Bay Packers in Week 1 before taking a hit that left him briefly motionless. His symptoms were mild, and he practiced all three times last week on a limited basis.

In other news, receiver Jauan Jennings is expected to return after missing last week because of a death in family. O'Connell also said he will be talking about options at running back after veteran Aaron Jones Sr. took 24 carries in the Vikings' 9-3 victory over the Chicago Bears. Jones was "pretty sore" after the game, O'Connell said. Backup Jordan Mason (thumb) is on injured reserve for another three weeks and rookie sixth-round pick Demond Claiborne is not ready to carry the load.
