Franco-German scaleup The Exploration Company, which makes reusable space capsules, is in advanced talks for a new funding round set to be co-led by Atomico and Bessemer Venture Partners. The round would value the company at around $2bn post-money, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The company's Nyx capsule is designed for cargo and crew transport to low Earth orbit and beyond. The new capital would accelerate development and production of the reusable spacecraft, positioning the startup as a key player in the emerging commercial space transportation market.

Atomico and Bessemer Venture Partners are leading the investment, reflecting strong confidence in the European space tech ecosystem. The deal underscores increasing investor appetite for reusable launch and return systems as demand for orbital logistics grows.
