TA Associates has joined Advent International as a strategic investor in Volue, the European energy technology platform focused on electrification and AI-driven energy solutions. The investment comes after an 18-month transformation at Volue, during which the company divested non-core assets to sharpen its focus on grid optimisation and energy market intelligence.

Volue serves more than 2,500 customers across 40 countries with a platform supporting power trading, asset optimisation for hydro, thermal, battery, wind, and solar portfolios, and grid management. The company employs over 750 staff and operates at the intersection of Europe's energy transition and digital infrastructure. Stephan Sieber, Volue's CEO, emphasised the complexity of modern energy systems and welcomed TA Associates alongside existing investors Generation Investment Management and Arendals Fossekompani.

The investment underscores private equity's continued focus on digital infrastructure and AI-enabled solutions underpinning Europe's electrification agenda. TA Associates highlighted the structural demand drivers, noting that growth in renewable energy is driving rapidly increasing need for advanced, AI-driven technology to support critical decision-making in the energy sector.
