Carlyle and CVC Capital Partners portfolio company CFGI has acquired BAO Consulting Group, an advisory business operating in Dallas and Houston, for undisclosed terms. The deal gives CFGI, a global accounting and business advisory firm, a presence in the Dallas market. According to a statement, it also strengthens CFGI’s ability to serve management teams and private equity sponsors on accounting, transaction and business improvement priorities.

BAO was founded in 2021 and offers accounting and finance advisory, CFO and controller support, financial planning and analysis, finance transformation, systems implementation and transaction-related services. The company said its growth has been driven by client relationships, repeat engagements and referrals. CFGI has more than 1,400 professionals serving thousands of clients across more than 30 offices in the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific.

It works with management teams, finance leaders and private equity sponsors on regulatory, transaction and business improvement matters. The combined business will be positioned to pursue larger and more complex engagements, broaden its range of services and expand its presence across Texas, according to the company.
