Partners Group has agreed to acquire a majority stake in AVK Power Solutions, a UK-based provider of power systems for data centers and AI infrastructure. The investment, made on behalf of Partners Group clients, aims to accelerate AVK's growth, with management retaining a minority stake. Partners Group plans to initially invest over $1 billion of equity, supplemented by debt financing.

AVK designs, installs, and maintains power infrastructure, including microgrids and hybrid systems. The company has completed over 20,000 projects, delivering approximately 3.5GW of power across Europe's FLAP-D markets (Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Dublin). This acquisition seeks to address grid congestion and long connection queues in the European data center market by leveraging AVK's on-site generation capabilities.

Partners Group intends to transform AVK into an energy-as-a-service infrastructure platform. AVK currently holds a pipeline of over 2GW of behind-the-meter power opportunities. Partners Group brings prior experience in decentralized energy and data center investments. Nicholas Pepper, managing director at Partners Group, highlighted power access as a critical constraint driven by AI infrastructure buildouts.
