Danish marine supplier Wrist Group announced the acquisition of Military Services Australia Pty Ltd and Downie Jones Ship Stores Limited, two firms that provide husbanding and logistics support for defence vessels in Australia and the Indo‑Pacific. The deal adds to Wrist’s existing footprint of 40 sites serving more than 750 ports worldwide. CEO Peter Price said the move deepens the company’s defence portfolio.

Backed by private‑equity firm JF Lehman & Company, Wrist has pursued consolidation in a fragmented maritime logistics market, where defence contracts command premium rates. By integrating Military Services Australia’s husbanding capabilities with its own supply chain, Wrist can offer end‑to‑end solutions to navies and commercial operators, potentially boosting revenue margins and creating cross‑sell opportunities across its global network and eyes upcoming tenders.

The combined entity positions Wrist as one of the few providers capable of servicing both commercial and military customers across the region, raising barriers for rivals seeking similar scale. Investors will now assess whether the expanded portfolio translates into significantly higher EBITDA as the company integrates the new assets and pursues further contract wins.
