Private equity firms are increasingly investing in specialty pharmacies with multi-state operations and licenses, drawn by predictable revenue from refills for chronic conditions and negotiating leverage with payers. The fragmented nature of the sector and diversified revenue streams help offset regulatory and reimbursement risks.

Key deals include: Linden Capital Partners acquiring Artes Rx from Flexpoint Ford, which grew from 3 pharmacies in one state to 16 across 14 states plus Washington, DC through M&A and organic growth. New Heritage Capital invested in Carepoint Pharmacy, an Illinois-based company offering pharmacy dispensing in all 50 states with patient access support services.

Court Square Capital Partners and Wind Rose Health Investors backed Soleo Health's acquisition of Realo Specialty Care Pharmacy, expanding Soleo's footprint in the Mid-Atlantic. Frazier Healthcare Partners acquired Altruix from Wind Rose Health Investors, serving patients with mental health and developmental disabilities across 17 Mid-Atlantic pharmacies.
