Frazier Healthcare Partners has acquired Altruix, a behavioral health pharmacy platform specializing in services for patients with severe mental illness, substance use disorders, and developmental disabilities. The Hunt Valley, Maryland-based company operates 17 pharmacies across the Mid-Atlantic region, serving more than 32,000 patients monthly.

WindRose Health Investors sold the platform after completing its initial investment in December 2021, when the company operated as Terrapin Pharmacy. The transaction reflects growing private equity interest in specialized healthcare services that address underserved patient populations.

Behavioral health pharmacies have become increasingly attractive targets as mental health and substance abuse treatment gains greater attention. These specialized providers often command premium valuations due to their focus on complex patient needs and stable reimbursement streams.

The deal underscores continued consolidation in the pharmacy sector, with private equity firms seeking platforms that combine growth potential with social impact. Financial terms were not disclosed, but similar transactions in the behavioral health space have typically ranged from $50 million to $200 million.
