One Bow River has invested in PteroDynamics, a Colorado Springs-based aerospace company developing autonomous vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. The funding round will accelerate development of the company's transwing VTOL unmanned aircraft systems and expand manufacturing capabilities.

Founded in 2017, PteroDynamics builds autonomous aircraft that combine the vertical lift capabilities of helicopters with the efficiency of fixed-wing planes. CEO Matthew Graczyk leads the company's push into next-generation drone technology for commercial and defense applications. The investment comes as demand grows for versatile unmanned systems across multiple sectors.

The funding enables PteroDynamics to fast-track flight testing of its proprietary transwing design, which promises greater range and payload capacity than traditional multirotor drones. This positions the company to compete in the expanding autonomous aircraft market, where traditional aerospace players and startups vie for contracts.
