HIG Capital’s portfolio company OB Streem has completed the acquisition of Med Frigo, a provider of temperature‑controlled transportation and logistics services in Europe. The deal follows OB Streem’s appointment of Alexandros Karafillides as chief executive and a financing round with a consortium of European banks. Med Frigo’s cold‑chain facilities and refrigerated fleet move fresh fish exports for Greece’s largest aquaculture producers across Europe. The combined platform generates more than $500 million in revenue across operations in eight countries.

The acquisition strengthens OB Streem’s presence in the European cold‑chain market and expands its logistics network to support a growing demand for fresh seafood exports. With the new capabilities, the company can offer end‑to‑end solutions for temperature‑sensitive cargo, enhancing service quality for key aquaculture clients.

This strategic move positions OB Streem to leverage synergies between its existing logistics operations and Med Frigo’s specialized fleet, creating a robust platform that can scale across multiple markets while maintaining high standards of product integrity.

The transaction marks a significant milestone for OB Streem’s expansion strategy and demonstrates HIG Capital’s commitment to investing in high‑growth infrastructure assets.
